Description
Before any sunset or sunrise landscape photography session, location scouting is one of the most important things which a good photographer needs to plan meticulously to stand in the right place when the golden lights pop up. Generally, most of us tend to avoid shooting in the midday sun. The light is harsh and contrast is very high. This means that shadows get very dark, even black, and highlights can sometimes wash out. The lighting on the land looks very flat and it is terribly unattractive, BUT…sometimes there are some exciting photo opportunities to be had in bright lighting conditions that are different than what’s found at any other time of day. Here one of my secret tips that I want to share with you: KEEP AN EYE ON THE CLOUDS. When the clouds and the sun play together in a beautiful way, they can create unpredictable contrasts on the land. In this case the shadows played a role in the graphic design of the compositions. Even though in the middle of the day with the sun pretty much over my head, I think that this scene is quite interesting with a strong feel and mood. I used the Fujifilm X-T2 + Fujinon XF10-24mm f/4 (hand-held shot, no filters) Edited in Photoshop + Exposure X3 (Alien Skin Software)
