The Hardknott Pass runs from the village of Boot in Copeland, Cumbria to meet the Wrynose Pass which then give access to the Ambleside and the Eastern Lakes.
The Eskdale Needle is a rock formation in the Hardknott area of the Lake District National Park. Whilst only a mile or two from the popular Hardknott Roman Fort, very few visitors venture to this sight.
