I'd always thought of Big Sur as rugged coastline, crashing waves and the Bixby Bridge. This day proved to me how much I had been missing by staying in my car. On Highway 1, it was too foggy to even see the water, so I decided to hike up the Boronda Trail to see if I could get above the fog. I was certainly glad that I did! The hills were covered with lupine and new spring grass. The skies were azure blue and fog hugged the coast. What a glorious day it turned out to be!
