Description
Frame shot while hiking in an area of central Florida wetlands. The American alligator is an apex predator and keystone species of the wetland ecosystems. Crocodilians have been around for almost 200 million years and are crucial to the survival of numerous other species in the wetlands - wetlands that recharge the drinking water and serve as vital habitat for many species of plants and wildlife. Through wildlife and conservation photography, I attempt to educate and inspire the public towards conservation practices.
