There is a $8 admission fee to the facility. 2011 was a poor year for blooms due to lack of rain. It was still worth the 8 bucks to get in. I came away with a number of wildflower shots I was satisfied with.
The National Wildflower Research Center is located on the south side of Austin, Texas. Visit the center during the first 2 weeks of April for peak wildflower displays. I enjoyed the combination of live oaks, yucca and bluebonnets in this shot. I felt the scene was a good representation of the local terrain.
