At first light on an October morning I spotted this Rocky Mountain Bull Elk showing off his new attire. He had his harem gathered at Lake Estes area; and at first, he was rubbing his antlers on a tree attempting to rid the fencing from his antlers. It was a challenge to capture an image that clearly emphasized the fencing.
Still being alert to his harem, he noticed a few of his cows were venturing a bit too far, so he quickly ran out into a clearing to herd them back. I was lucky he gave me an opportunity to capture an image that really showcased the fencing.
