Colorado CR 82
Twin Lakes is a high alpine lake, situated at an elevation of 9,300 feet at the base of famous Independence Pass in Colorado. Surrounded by 14,000 ft peaks - including Mount Elbert, the tallest mountain in Colorado - it is one of those locations that will always take your breath away. No matter how often you have been here, no visit is ever the same. Because, as they say in Colorado: If you don't like the weather, just wait 10 minutes. From blue skies to sudden snow squalls, from mellow beach walks to ferocious thunderstorms, the weather is constantly changing and so is the light. Just like this morning shot: Dark blue and purplish storm clouds were billowing over the dark lake, when suddenly the rising sun burst through the thick clouds and illuminated the snowcapped peaks on the West side of the lake, reflecting the snowfields onto the calm water.
