It took a lot of waiting for him to look directly into my lens, but patience is large part of wildlife photography, and is something I consider it a privilege to practice. My guide and I were actually uncertain if this cheetah had eaten a large meal, or was perhaps pregnant. What we do know is that it lounged on the Serengeti plains, endless skies in sight, ever aware of its surroundings. Every photographer has a way that they approach making images. I don't shoot rapid fire, or continuous. My personality is a "wait for it" kind of thing. And on this day, I was so happy that I did. I know I'll never forget my moments shared with this cheetah.
