Hearing about a Bald Eagle migration from a fellow photographer, I decided to drive down one day to see what all of the talk was about. Alaska would have to wait for another time! Unfortunately, it's a hit or miss situation, as you need to be at the location when the turbines from the dam at the generating facility release their powerful water surges into the Susquehanna River. Churning up a variety of fish, the Bald Eagles (among other birds) feast on the bounty provided to them by the actions of the release. I spotted this Bald Eagle as it was approaching the surface of the river in an attempt to secure a meal. Once it snatched the American Shad off of the river's surface, and managed to gain altitude and control, it then carried the fish effortlessly to it's final resting place. In it's stomach!
