Description
Summertime in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado: Monsoon moisture is streaming from the Southern, more tropical latitudes into the High Country, delivering a daily deluge of copious amounts of rain like clockwork in the evening. Crazy clouds are shape shifting and drifting through the alpine valleys but every once in a while something truly special - as captured in this photo - happens: When the angle is just right, the light of the setting sun is reflected in the water vapor and very intense rainbows are materializing out of nowhere, popping up like beacons on the horizon, seemingly growing out of angry looking storm clouds. And if the spectator is really lucky he'll even get to experience a double vision.
