Colorado CR 69 or SR 160
The Spanish Peaks, twin mountains located in South Central Colorado, are considered a geological wonder. More than 13,000 ft tall, these two peaks are situated in a wide open area and seem to be rising up out of nowhere. Therefore, the Spanish Peaks are visible across the plains and on the horizon over unbelievable distances. This image was shot over a distance of about 65 miles (!!) and you can still see every detail in the structure of the extraordinary mountains. And occasionally - if you are lucky - the light of the sunrise hits the granite walls of the behemoth-duo just right and creates "magic", dunking the outlines in pre-sunrise colors but leaving the lower flatlands still covered by the darkness of the night. On this particular dawn the clouds were the icing on the cake.
