Making the rounds looking for American Bald Eagles along the river's banks, there are times when what was not there during the first pass, is there during the return trip. Aided by the sight of some photographers standing along the roadside with their cameras pointing across the river, I stopped my car short of their location, found an area to park without obstructing traffic, and retrieved my camera from the back of the car. I set it on top of my car roof, as a tripod was not usable at that location. It took me a while to locate the attraction, but luckily this pair of immature American Bald Eagles were in no hurry to leave their perching spot. The late afternoon sun highlighted their bodies, and I managed to capture many photos of the pair before they eventually flew of separately upriver.
