Description
The wind was fierce as I made my way through the prairie grass up to the top of Standing Rock Hills, a major landmark for the Dakota’s Native American groups. The site, a Woodland Period burial mound, is marked by a standing rock located at the very top of the hill, which grants an impressive view of the surrounding prairieland. With a pastel blue sky above, I found the green walking path to be quite photogenic as it wound through the brown tall grass of the hill.
