Two young furry partners are on their journey home. A brief case of AMS (altitude sickness) brought these two deer across my path. I was feeling a bit nauseous, had a mild headache, and was unable to catch my breath at the Patriarch grove (11,300) elevation. This was right before peak sunset colours and I decided that it was better to play it safe and head down the hills before my symptoms got any worse. It was an unusual scary experience for me, being that I've been at that elevation dozens of times and never had a problem.
