The tranquility of Cardinal Pond in the Eastern Sierra is beautiful all year long but most tourists only visit when the fall colours arrive. This photo was taken in July when the pond is green as can be, and the water flowers are in bloom. I like when the pond reflects the fall colours and boulders but I absolutely love the greens of summer and sitting in the cool shade to escape the heat of summer.
PS: No matter how many times I've photographed this pond will always make time to photograph during the fall rush... If the USFS opens Inyo National Forest back up.
