I was in the process of capturing backlit hummingbirds right before sunset. My wife told me there was a goldfinch on the sunflowers. I turned around and the sun was shining directly on the sunflower tops. The female flew in and they started really talking to each other really loud. They both were putting there beaks in each other’s open beaks. Not feeding each other, this was a behavior I hadn’t seen before. It lasted about two or three minutes and it was over. She flew away. I don’t remember how many shots I captured but this photograph was one of my favorites.
