The Rowers

George Washington Memorial Parkway

I was shooting sunrise at low tide at the edge of a local sailing marina on the Potomac river. This allowed me access to the river bed which I liked to use as foreground for my photos. One day a small group of rowers appeared and wet launched their shells from my “studio”. They told me that the local rowing club had been shut down due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The appearance of these rowers turned out to be an opportunity to create one of my favorite photos.
