I don't think anyone needs directions on getting to Yellowstone. We drove on US 14, which took us to the eastern entrance of Yellowstone. I couldn't tell you where in Yellowstone that we saw this owl as I wasn't driving and don't remember the area where we saw the owl.
The Great Grey Owl is apparently either a very reclusive owl or just isn’t a prolific breeder . . . it isn’t seen very often. I sent photos of this owl to a friend, who is a bird watcher. He sent these photos to a friend of his who is an EXPERT bird watcher . . . he has been an avid bird watcher all of his life, having traveled all over this country and into Europe just for bird watching. He said that he had never seen one of these owls before. We were very, very lucky to have seen and get photos of this owl.
