I had shot this area alot but never had created a photo to my liking. It is a difficult place to photograph and at this time there had been smoke from a fire for weeks making less than ideal conditions. Finally some west winds cleared the smoke and the clouds were streaming in so off I went. I was shooting for a couple hours getting two decent exposures. At the time I shot this I had some high clouds behind me(like a giant soft box) helping to fill the peaks shadow and improve saturation in the fall colors but there was also a break in the clouds to light the area. I think it is one of the best fall shots I've seen taken here, (of course that is all subjective) . I was lucky the conditions were so outstanding.
