The weather changed when we were leaving the Badwater Basin. Sun broke through after the whole day of hiding behind the rainy clouds and everything ahead was suddenly bathed in gold. The clouds were still hanging there, low, fluffy, making the colorful landscape of Artist Palette even more surreal. The light was balsamic, and out whole drive through there seemed to be dreamy. Taking this photograph was like taking a deep breath: "Aaaah. We really are here, now".
