As it makes it's way over the icy waters of a reservoir in search of a meal, this American Bald Eagle struggles to maintain balance against the force of the wind. The only open areas not covered by the ice allow the search to be made easier, as the wind most certainly has not! Sometimes a meal can be found within a short distance below the surface of the ice, where it uses it's sharp and powerful beak to dislodge it. Hopefully, there is no competition around to steal the meal, as is sometimes the case.
