Great Blue Heron Scowling, St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge, Amongst the Grass

Enter the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge on Hwy 59 heading toward the St. Mark's Lighthouse. The road passes through wetlands on both sides with view of alligators and birds. Many parking areas afford access to dirt roads and trails through wetland areas, suitable for walking or biking. The alligators are wild and quite fast, so keep your distance.
