I'm lucky enough to live on Vancouver Island near a provincial park called "Rathtrevor Beach". It is near a town called PARKSVILLE which is about a two hour drive north of our provincial capital of Victoria.
I find early morning the best time to capture light and sun or at least the most dramatic.
If you are beachside early enough you can catch the early morning sunrise and if the tide is out the flora and fauna inflow tidal pools is amazing! It might mean getting your shoes wet and "swamp lagoon" appearance but all worth it.
