Wayzata, Minnesota. Sometimes, rarely, you set out to capture an image and it happens. This was one of those... where you have something in your head, the day, the timing, the light, the equipment, everything works. On this day, I had everything and everything worked! For this image, I had been wanting a solid image of "Sun-Dogs" that occur every so often from the ice in the atmosphere in our northern winters. Beyond the cold and hour of the day, this image came together about as seamlessly as any photograph could. Nikon D810; Nikon 16-35mm.

Biography

Robb's passion for photography began over 20 years ago. An avid outdoorsman, hiker, skier, camper, climber and anything else outside, he never leaves home without some type of camera in tow. Over the years, he has worked in various formats from 35mm to large format and now digital. He looks to capture the human spirit through landscapes and scenic photographs to evoke the emotions that are felt at that moment in time. Memories captured and shared are those that survive generations.

North Sound, Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands. Sometimes, you just have to be ready! Although the beauty of this island has recently been devastated by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, the spirit of the people and the flora and fauna will not be damaged. I've included this photo from a trip to the islands several years ago as a reminder of the power of nature. With full awareness of the struggles that the people are having, this same image could well be captured the day that you read this. Nature continues although its power and beauty cannot be denied. Lafayette Red. Mornings are my favorite time of the day. Technically on the surface fairly easy, but in reality, equipment can be king here from lenses to a camera's ability to capture the full dynamic range of a scene, as with any image, it all must come together. Panasonic DXC.
