More Than Just a Park: An Incredible Journey Through Grand Teton

In 2014, filmmakers Will and Jim Pattiz set out on a journey across the United States to document and create a short film on each of the 59 national parks—an ambitious project to say the least, considering they’d have weeks worth of film to edit into a three- to four-minute short film for each park. But the results so far are stunning, and the series does what they set out to do when they founded More Than Just Parks—to show people the beautiful landscapes and wildlife of parks they may never have the chance to fully see in person, to celebrate these natural wonders and stress the importance of their protection for future generations, and to inspire everyone to get out and enjoy the great outdoors.

Grand Teton 8K is the latest film in their “More Than Just Parks” series (the previous seven films on Olympic, Redwood, Acadia, Joshua Tree, Smoky Mountains, Zion and The Badlands can be found on their website at www.morethanjustparks.com and on Vimeo). Armed with a Canon 5D Mark III, Sony a7R II and a Blackmagic Production Camera 4K, the Pattiz Brothers spent close to a month at Grand Teton National Park filming incredible scenes of Jackson Hole Valley and the Teton Mountain Range, sunrises and sunsets, star-filled night skies, lakes and rivers, and diverse wildlife. The incredible amount of footage was then edited down to close to three and a half minutes of time-lapse scenes mixed with footage of bears, foxes, moose and other animals that call the park home.

"Stepping foot in a place so remarkably beautiful as Grand Teton is like stepping foot on another planet—it's a life-changing experience that everyone should have," said Will.

So, without further ado, grab some popcorn, and kick back and enjoy this beautiful adventure through Grand Teton.
