My wife and I were hiking down La Mina trail on the way to La Mina Falls in El Yunque National (Rain) Forest. As we approached the last decline on the trail leading down the the falls, I noticed a steep, muddy cliff leading down the the river far below. I could barely see the river, but noticed the cliff had exposed roots that could assist in the climb down to the river. My wife and I braved the decent and it paid off with multiple impressive shots. I like this shot because it appears as thought the sun is hiding in the river above, just behind the boulder on the left. The angle of this shot produced incredible shades of green. As an added bonus, we were able to swim in the river by ourselves, while the rest of the hikers went swimming at the main falls. It was incredible.
