This hermit crab emerged from the coconut husk behind him, early morning on a beach in Koh Ngai Island. Out for her daily stroll, or maybe to pick up breakfast, it appears as if this crab has attached a decoration to her shell. This uninhabited island is the epitome of a tropical paradise. But with the increased tourism to the area, more and more garbage has been washing up on the shores. Surrounding the crab in this photo was bottles, old shoes and other assorted human waste.
