Yosemite Falls is becoming increasingly known for its beautiful "moonbows", or lunar rainbows. Moonbows are created with the bright light of the moon reflects off the mist of a waterfall and creates a rainbow. After a strong winter season, Yosemite Falls was raging in early spring. Here, the full moon managed to create not only one, but two moonbows as I waited along the Upper Yosemite Falls trail to capture this image. It was a grueling 1.5 mile hike up to this location but it was well worth it for this moonbow. The moonbow, in fact, was so bright, that we could see the beautiful color with our naked eye!
