Sometimes, the beaches are hidden in small fjords and beautiful bays are opened. East Coast sector chosen to join the Network of Protected Areas of Asturias is located east of Llanes, between the capital of the council and the end eastern region. The area bounded belongs to the municipalities of Llanes and Ribadedeva, and constitutes a narrow strip of about 30 km in length and 1 to 4 km wide. It is important the presence of birds, some included in the Regional Catalogue of Threatened Species, as the shag and storm petrels.
