I took this photo with a Nikon D7000 and 70-300mm lens at 200mm, f/5.3, 1/125 sec, ISO 4000. Basic levels and contrast adjustments were made in Photoshop Elements.
While taking wide angle photos in the woods of Whitnall Park, I noticed a duo of deer coming my way. I quickly fumbled to change to a telephoto lens while keeping my eyes on the animals. This moment ranks as my most favorite event to happen while photographing nature. The deer came within twenty feet of me, paused and moved on as I happily snapped away in awe. The quickly fading light level caused me to shoot at a high ISO in order to freeze the deer.
