In Death Valley National Park, take Highway 190 to the Zabriskie Point overlook.
On my first trip to Death Valley, I was eager to explore the colorful geological formations there. As the rest of my family slept in, I borrowed my father-in-law's car and drove to Zabriskie Point to watch the sun rise on the Gower Gulch badlands. Though a wide angle view is incredible, I used my long zoom lens to frame a more intimate shot, eliminating a cloudless sky and accentuating the colorful rock features.
