From Portland, Oregon drive approx. and hour to the town of Hood River while taking the final exit stating the direction for Hwy. 35 to Mt. Hood. From this point drive another 16-18 miles to the town of Parkdale, turn left once you see the school on the left, and follow the road for another few miles until you see a sign for the route to a lake, name unknown to me. This scene is just around the corner on the roadway.
Be there early and setup, as the light lasts but a few minutes, and that optimum light lingers not for the awestruck. Take a coat as you are at elevation here, not a lot, but high enough it gets cold.
This image is one I have waited to capture for the past few years, and this past Saturday I was fortunate enough to actually capture what I saw before me. Wy-East is a gift from Heaven to those that have stood beneath and upon him, though he has angered many and has taken many from amongst us.
