I used a Nikon D800 camera body with a Tokina 100-300 f/4 ATX-Pro lens mounted on a tripod. I metered for the moon and the bird was silhouetted against the background.
Nikon D800 body with a Tokina 100-300 f/4 lens at ISO 800 at f/32 with 1/30 shutter speed, in aperture priority and spot metering. Was also shot with the use of a tripod.
I was shooting images of the supermoon and not really having a good night. Then all of a sudden this bird landed on a branch near me. I backed away, composed my shot and fired away. The bird posed long enough to have it's picture taken then flew away.
