The glistening white sand dunes fill the Tularosa Basin, and undulate like a great sand desert. The remarkable thing is the weather that surrounds the basin and is constantly changing. The dunes look like snow, and indeed, the campers, hikers, bikers and picnickers often bring their snow saucers to slide down the dunes' faces.
