This is just off the dirt road by the Happy Boulders. I can't remember the name because I've been there so many times, I just know where to go.
I made a 5 second exposure to capture the cloud reflections on the water, and used a polarizer.
Winter sunrises in the Owens Valley are spectacular, maybe because the valley is so deep that the sun doesn't rise into the valley until about an hour after the dawn light. I arrived here at the Horseshoe Bend in the dark in early January, 19 degree weather, not sure what I was going to find because the skies had been clear every day. This was my last morning of the trip. As the skies lightened I saw high clouds, and then they lit up like I had never seen before-or since.
