People strolling in front of the iconic Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach, Oregon at dusk. I arrived at Cannon Beach two days after an early winter storm brought heavy rains and hurricane force wind gusts. The forecasts called for intermittent showers throughout this day and for most of it that was the case. Periods of rain of intensifying intensity would be followed by clearing and blue skies and puffy clouds only to be followed by showers again. As the sun was setting another period of clearing occurred. This resulted in a narrow band of horizontal light from the low sun. I was able to capture this with the looming Haystack Rock in the distance. In the middle, the people strolling and their reflections add perspective and the foreground has the pools and the resulting reflections from when after the tide went back out. This scene was only brief as another set of showers soon moved through.
