For several years I had desired to capture for myself the foggy scene in the Redwoods when the Rhododendrons are in bloom. Finally this last year I made the journey. The first few days there all of the locals were so happy with the beautiful blue skies that they apparently don't see enough of, but for me, I could hardly wait for some fog to roll in. Finally after a couple of days, the rainy weather began, and the mist produced some very fine fog. I had spent the prior two days scouting for where the Rhodies were in bloom, so on this day I methodically shot one scouted location after another, until I got here. It wasn't much after this that the sun started to break through and the rain and fog were gone for the day. But I was feeling very happy with this shot, and it turned out to be my favorite as I liked the more unique shape of the Rhododendron bush.
