I had planned on one of those iconic shots of Owens River with the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the distance.. I arrived to a pre-selected spot, a few miles into nowhere before sunrise. Still dark I walked about quarter of a mile along the river's edge until I found my spot for my sunrise shots. I had plenty of time and took many shots. I watched with wonder as the beauty of a new days light kissed the mountain tops and the landscape. This shot was one of many, but this one won my eye because of the alpenglow on the mountain tops and light just touching the tops of the tall grasses across the landscape. There was no wind with the river moving slowly and gently towards the Sierras, I chose to use an ND filter to smooth the rivers movement even more to better show the wonderful reflections of colors from the beautiful sunrise sky. I really like the farms and pastures in the distance giving this scene a bit of a story book feeling.
