This photo is actually level! The tilt effect is from a gradual slope down to the basin in Red Rock Canyon National Park. The mountains follow the contour of the desert land up, from a low elevation of about 3,700 feet up to 8,154 feet at the highest peak-- high enough for seasonal snow cover. Native Americans inhabited here as far back as 11,000 B.C. Petroglyphs and pictographs can be found hidden numerous overhangs in these stunning mountains and canyons.
