My wife Serena who is also a landscape photographer and I visit the beautiful and colorful state of Colorado every other year for the fall colors, specifically the Southwestern corner of Colorado. All one has to do is take a drive on Hwy. 550 from Montrose to Durango during the fall and you will be inspired beyond your wildest dreams. As a landscape photographer two of my favorite things to shoot are water and trees. During the fall, Colorado has some of the most gorgeous aspens in the world! For this photograph my wife and I had done just that we drove from Montrose to Durango right about the time the first snow of the season moved in. It was on our way back heading north outside the town of Hermosa that we started to hit a bit of fog and we had beautiful aspens on either side of the road. I quickly pulled the car over, my wife walked up the highway to get a shot and me like a kid in a candy store went running down the highway looking for a good composition. I came to this spot with an opening in the aspens it seemed to draw me in like a dream something was magical about it and I made several shots. The color of the aspens were perfect and the fog made it even more entrancing! The scene will be etched in my memory forever. I had many photographs from this trip that I love but this was one of my favorites. The name of my photograph is “Dreams Come from Within”.
