While on an autumn road trip up the Pacific Coast of California & Oregon we crossed over a bridge spanning this breathtaking marsh. I had never seen a marsh so brilliant with color and texture. It was one of those moments when I was absolutely compelled to grab my camera. “Stop!” is my usual knee-jerk command to my husband. It was a serendipitous moment that required quick action. Knowledge of my gear and camera settings was immediately important because there was no time to dawdle thinking about it. With traffic on the bridge, setting up a tripod was simply not possible. I love the color, texture and the wide open expanse toward the ocean.
