On my annual fall photography trip in Colorado, I was delighted to find the Aspens at their peak on Last Dollar Road near Telluride. After photographing a less dramatic sunrise from this vantage, I spent the day relaxing and hiking with my dog. That afternoon brought the week's first rain. Fortunately the rain started to break at sunset, moving up valley towards Telluride in bands. I was able to capture a rain squall encroaching Telluride as another rain band moved over the ridge-line of Wilson Peak and Lizard Head. The side light was a stunning orange, which I accentuated with a polarizer.
