Venturing up to the Kalalau Valley overlook is always an adventure. Living about 2.5hrs away it's not necessarily around the corner. That with the fact that one is very likely to be stuck in a cloud and see nothing at all. This particular evening started out like that...adding in passing showers to the mix. Around sunset, the clouds, open to the west started to allow some magical light through, while the mist and rain continued. Luckily I had help with an umbrella that allowed me to quickly work to capture this fleeting light. About 5 minutes later it was gone and we retreated to the car to dry off. Worth it.
