I flew to Johannesburg, So Africa and spent 2 weeks in Kruger Nat. Park then flew to Windhoek, Namibia, rented an SUV then met our guides. The Etosha Reserve is where this image was made.
This image was made on a month long photo safari in Namibia, So. Africa. My photo partner and I were stationed near a water hole when the Impala started fighting. I must have taken 30 images using AI servo, in 3 or 4 shot bursts. I didn't realize how good this image was until it was up on my Desk Top 27 in. screen. The image included all the perimeters of a classic fight. Notice the kicked up dust, some hooves in the air and best of all the right Impala has his foot around his adversary's horn. Tools for the day, My Canon Eos 1D Mark 11mounted to a Canon 500 f 4.5 lens mounted on a car window mount. My settings were f 6.3 to help soften the background, ISO 400 and 1600th of a sec. to stop the action.
