The Bosque del Apache is an hour and a half south of Albuquerque International airport. From I-25, take the San Antonio exit (#139) east on U.S. 380 to Old Highway 1, then drive 9 miles to the Bosque visitor center.
A snow goose coming in for a landing at the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge located in southern New Mexico. Thousands of snow geese spend the night in water to protect themselves from predators. In the morning, around sunrise, some geese take off to check conditions and return to the pond. Then without warning all the geese take off en masse.
