Notes
This was taken with a monopod braced DSLR with an in-camera flash (fired a single time to minimize disturbance to the animals) at about 10 pm. You can see not only the retinal reflections of the 6 obvious caiman but dozens more in the surrounding water. In 30 years of outdoor photography, this was the most remarkable moment I ever witnessed. I watched entranced for a long while until the ocelot quietly moved upstream.
Description
The caiman position themselves mouth open against the river flow as fish stream toward them. In a desperate effort to escape their fate, some fish leap-whereupon they are swatted out of the air onto the ledge and eaten by the ocelot.
