Starting in Ushuaia, Argentina, board a ship and head south across the Drake Passage!
You can only imagine my excitement during my first day of a trip to Antarctica when I discovered this little fella, a Chinstrap Penguin, enjoying himself amongst a large group of Gentoo Penguins, a couple of "junior" Elephant Seals, and a lone Weddel Seal. Where his fellow Chinstraps were hanging out, I have no idea, but he seemed to enjoy playing with his Gentoo cousins. This photogenic guy posed for me for several minutes before moving on. I decided right there and then that the Chinstrap is my favorite penguin, even over the Emperor Penguin we saw later during our journey.
