Description
Forest elephants frequent a large clearing called Dzanga Bai in the Dzanga Sangha Reserve of the Central Africa Republic. The elephants gravitate to the Bai after the rainy season to drink mineral-rich waters. The many colors of mud in the Bai, ranging from bright oranges and yellows to rich red and khaki greens paint the elephants with a rich palette of color as the spray the muddy water over their bodies to cool off.
