During my trip on the Gold Coast, Australia, I got to see Pelicans in the wild for the first time since those birds are pretty common over there. On several occasions, they just flew above me or landed few meters away. One day, I was walking on the beach near Surfers' Paradise and I saw two pelicans coming from my left but by the time I reached the camera, they had already moved beyond me. But I kept them in sight, just in case and this was the right decision since they turned around about two hundred meters after me and came back all the way just to fly less than ten meters above my head. I choose to take a picture in black and white since it gives a stronger impression on the wings and an atmosphere I really like on wildlife pictures in general.
