South on Highway 3 from Etna, CA. then west on French Creek Road. At the fork take the north fork of French Creek. I took the photo about 2 miles up this road in a secured densely forested uninhabited area.
After a few shots the Fisher saw me and ran in the opposite direction.
I ran across this Pacific Fisher in July 2019 a dense forest of Northern California. Fishers are solitary/elusive animals and mainly nocturnal and not easily spotted. This was a rare mid-day sighting. Fishers have the aggressive, carnivorous temperament of a wolverine. It looks like a mole was lunch for this Fisher on this day.
